Job Summary

The Material Handler performs a variety of functions to provide planning and coordination involved in the material distribution and transportation flow of all goods and services that support the Company's operations by ensuring materials, supplies and finished goods are in place to meet or exceed internal and external Customer's expectations.  
Work with various departments to develop and implement production and delivery schedules. 
May also serve in functions that involve stores/receiving, shipping, returned/finished goods, and inventory analysis including cycle counting.

Job Responsibilities

Lifting up to 50 pound on a regular basis 

Inspect packages when delivered for damage.

Inspect contents of packages and verify quantity and part numbers

Data entry - Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point; ERP systems

Communicate and coordinate with other departments

Assist with raw material handling (Receiving material or issuing material to a work order)
Transport parts, materials, supplies by hand or with mechanical devices, cranes, vacuum lifters, and tow motors

Work with various departments to assist in the movement of large parts in an assigned production cell

Assist with packaging and labeling of materials to be shipped

Responsible for large part shipments, loading on trailers with vacuum lifter

Create ASNs through customer portals

Prepares receipts for load picked up

Filing and scanning paperwork

Track shipments as needed

Participates in creating standard work processes

Ensures the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.
Fully complies with the "GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government" in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the United States Government. 


Job Qualifications

Must be able to attain forklift/overhead and/or mobile crane/vacuum lifter certification upon hire

Requires ability to read and interpret written instruction

Must have a valid Kansas driver’s license

Demonstrate, among peers and with management, a high level of initiative, teamwork, and problem solving skills 

Ability to work in different environments from the production floor, shipping and receiving areas, to being outside in the elements
