Job Summary

The Site Finance Manager is a key member of the site finance team.  The role is able to assist with site level financial matters and they are a key business partner to the site operations team and other global functions, particularly at the site and reports to Site Financial Controller.  This role has primary day-to-day responsibility for designated transactional processing including judgement to support such and supports governance and reporting as well as systems enabling the planning, control and reporting of financial results for both management and statutory purposes.  They will support the Financial Controller in ownership of the overall P&L, balance sheet and cash accountability for the site and should develop and be a candidate for advancement depending on previous experience and pace of development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Business partnering.
  • Ensuring strong corporate governance.
  • Assist site operations team to develop an understanding of critical performance measures and their impact on such.
  • Supporting the objectives of Finance within GKN Aerospace.
  • Direct supervision of finance team member(s).
  • Work closely with the site controller and operations & business lines finance to deliver and offer insight into site financial performance.  Assist with assuring costs and results are controlled and reported appropriately.
  • Work closely with multi-functional teams.
  • Assist with the system of costing and reporting required to support management and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor capital appropriations to ensure that capital expenditures are budgeted, properly authorized, spend is controlled and records properly maintained.
  • Support financial systems, controls, delegated authorities and reporting throughout the site to assist with compliance with all national rules and regulations and comply with GKN policies and procedures.
  • In conjunction with GKN tax and financial controller, ensure full compliance with all tax and duty regimes.  Assist with local tax compliance. 
  • Assist with actions identified by site to mitigate enterprise risks.
  • To support compliance with regulations particularly relevant in a defense-related business including but not limited to export control, ITAR, DFARS and Anti Bribery and Corruption legislation.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with major/emphasis in accounting.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance/accounting roles, including experience in a manufacturing environment and finance leadership experience (building and developing an effective finance team) required.
  • Understanding of relevant technical accounting framework, as well as experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, control, analysis and reporting activities.

  • Able to plan and work ahead to support business and meeting of deadlines.
  • Connects and builds relationships with others, demonstrates emotional intelligence and an ability to communicate clearly and collaboratively.
  • Experience/expertise in lean methodologies and practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Experience working within a matrix organization.
