Job Summary

Provide Commercial Leadership and direction for Program Specific customer accounts and interface with the customer on all relevant contractual matters. Work in tandem with the Program Director to drive new business opportunities taking accountability for the commercial viability of each opportunity. Plays a key role in negotiation strategy and execution of the strategy.  Takes the lead on claims management.  Acts as an escalation point for commercial resolution of customer issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Take the lead role in identifying and managing risk, through contract negotiation, change management, ensuring appropriate pricing and protection is in place. 
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of a commercial strategy.
  • Ensure that the appropriate policies and procedures for successful Commercial practice are adhered to.
  • Manages the interface between GKN and its customers to resolve day to day commercial issues and build a strong customer relationship. 
  • Takes responsibility and accountability for the commercial performance of the program.
  • Mentor to other members of the Commercial team to increase the knowledge and skill base.
  • Ensure effective commercial change management control, pricing, negotiation and contracts are in place.
  • Ensure customer overdue debt is minimized and that customers pay in accordance with their contractual obligations and where possible maximize cash flow through contracting arrangements with the customer.
  • Ensures that all Bids and Proposals are prepared in accordance with the GKN Aerospace Bid Process.
  • Take responsibility and lead in review and negotiation of Terms and Conditions

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or contract negotiation related fields
  • 7+ years contracts experience
  • 5+ years of experience of bid proposal development
  • 5+ years of manufacturing industry experience, preferably in Aerospace
  • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business or related fields
  • Ability to understand and run business models
  • Must have strong skills in leading teams in the analysis of complex business and systems problems, identifying improvement alternatives, and implementing solutions.  
  • Proven customer management, proposal preparation, and pricing and negotiation skills with the ability to influence and persuade internal and external senior management levels.
  • Excellent written, verbal and collaboration skills
