We are establishing a new Systems Group within OE Product Solutions — the technical hub for our product solutions including their interactions within engine and aircraft systems at large. This team develops our Model Based System Engineering framework and converts our customer expectations of today and tomorrow into concrete technical roadmaps and value propositions that guide business-critical decisions.
As part of this journey, the Systems Group will:


•    Support executive board decision-making on project initiation and continuation
•    Evaluate and rate change requests related to our current products to support prioritization
•    Partner with Project Managers throughout planning and execution
•    Build strong technical relationships with customers to help win new business
•    Act as the focal point for system-level knowledge of current and future engines

About the role

As our System Engineer, you are leading the system engineer approach for OE product solutions. This means that you are supporting the business through decomposing the customer expectations into to clear technical requirements and associated blue print solutions for customer delivery and associated evaluation of expected benefits. As such, this group will establish & maintain the Model Based System Engineering approach for our GKN product offers including


•    Develop our culture of problem avoidance through D-FMEA / P-FMEA and project planning
•    Technical point of contact with customers during development programmes
•    Develop our central knowledge repository for aircraft, engines and product know how, both current and future 
•    Partner with Program Managers in the planning and execution, ensuring a system based approach
•    Partner with Program Managers to support Trade off decisions for balanced design (safety, performance, cost, weight..)
•    Participate in creating our strategic product roadmaps, system definitions (Operational, Logical, Physical and Functional) and consequently flow down of requirements to R&T, Demonstrator programmes and Product Development

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for system decomposition, requirement definition, and traceability management, applying MBSE tools and frameworks to ensure a robust architecture. You will contribute to the transition from document-based to model-based approaches, while driving verification and validation activities at system, sub-system, and component levels.

You will also support the creation of strategic product roadmaps and system definitions, ensuring effective flow-down of requirements into R&T, demonstrator programmes, and product development. Together with Program Managers, you will ensure a system-based approach to planning and execution, facilitate trade-off decisions that balance safety, performance, cost, and weight, and identify MBSE training needs across programmes.

Beyond this, you will promote a culture of problem avoidance through D-FMEA, P-FMEA, and proactive project planning. As a technical point of contact for customers, you will also play a central role in building trust and maintaining strong relationships, while continuously developing our knowledge repository on aircraft, engines, and product know-how—both current and future.

Job Qualifications

•    Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
•    Proven experience in MBSE
•    At least 5 years’ experience from working in the aerospace industry
•    Relevant courses in thermodynamics, gas dynamics, aerodynamics, turbomachinery, performance analysis, and experience with relevant software 
•    Experience from Multidisciplinary design and optimization is meritorious
•    Programming skills. Knowledge of Python and Matlab is advantageous
•    Previous working experience in the aerospace industry is advantageous
•    You are proficient in the Swedish and English language
•    Proficiency in MBSE tools such as System Modeling Workbench, Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or similar.
•    Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and practices including INCOSE (International Council on Systems Engineering) standards and best practices.
•    Experience with SysML (Systems Modeling Language) and ARCADIA methodology is beneficial
•    Knowledge of aero engine systems and their design principles.
