About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Research Engineer – Mechanical Design to join our Product Integration team at our Global Technology Center. Here, you’ll help shape the next generation of aeroengines by leading the mechanical design of advanced components and sub systems that require high performance, low weight, and extended functionality.

In this role, you will work hands-on with new technologies, collaborate with a wide range of engineering disciplines and contribute directly to technology development programs and engine demonstrators. Your work will span early concept studies through detailed design, integration and validation. 

Job Responsibilities

•    Contribute to the different phases of product technology development with your expertise in mechanical design and definition.
•    Responsible for the design of components/systems for engine demonstrators, balancing the input from different disciplines to create designs that meet or exceed requirements and technology targets.
•    Integrate new technologies into future product solutions. 
•    Identify technology gaps and opportunities for new technology development. 
•    Create and update design data in TeamCenter and NX (drawings, CAD models, interfaces).

Qualifications & Personal skills

•    Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
•    5+ years of experience in mechanical design. Experience in aerospace is a plus. 
•    Experience in product or technology development in cross-functional teams.
•    Knowledge of NX and TeamCenter (meritorious).
•    Solid understanding of GD&T
•    Experience with design for manufacturing. Additive manufacturing is a plus.
•    Experience with MBSE is an advantage.
•    Fluency in Swedish and English.
