Manager, Manufacturing Engineering - Tool Design & Special Methods - Rotating Parts

GKN Engines Sweden in Trollhättan are now looking for a Manager Manufacturing Engineering - Tool Design & Special methods - within Business Area Rotating Parts.

Business Area Rotating parts is responsible for all rotating parts within Engines in Sweden and delivers parts both to GE, PW, KHI and the Swedish Air Force. Rotating Parts is in an expansion phase with increasing volumes within currently existing contracts and are involved in a significant amount of new business opportunities.
Rotating parts has the highest level of quality requirements and the overall tightest tolerances, which demands robust, high technology manufacturing processes.

As an ME Manager for Tool Design and Special Methods, your team will be part of Business Area Rotating Parts but still support all areas within GAS and to some extent other sites as well. The main responsibility is to develop and maintain a competitive edge within Tool Design and Special Methods such as surface treatment, shot peen, cleaning, plating, etc.

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be a member of the ME Management team within Rotating Parts. You will report to the Site Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

We are looking for a target-oriented person with a strong drive to deliver and constantly develop and improve the team. You are a firm leader with an interest and ability to lead and develop your employees. Strong customers focus and good communication skills are essential, also the ability of networking and creating relationships.

  • You have a technical education, preferably at academic level 
  • Good experience in Manufacturing Engineering, minimum of 5 years and/or other relevant experiences
  • Basic knowledge as well as insight into customer and third-party requirements for the Special Methods within your responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team in delivering results on time, with a high focus of robustness and quality and with a business mindset
  • Have the ability to work independently as well as through your team and cross functional in order to meet established goals and targets
  • An analytical mind with the capability to communicate those skills in both Swedish and English
  • An outgoing, open-minded, and positive person with a demonstrated talent to manage continuous improvement.
  • Have the ability to work proactively
