Job Summary

We are looking for a senior-level Industrial Digitalization Engineer to join our Global Technology Centre. In this role, you will lead the development of next-generation digitalization solutions for advanced manufacturing, working at the intersection of software engineering, robotics, automation, and industrial IoT. You will be responsible for designing and delivering full-stack digital architectures, driving cross-functional collaboration, and shaping the strategic direction of our digital transformation initiatives.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role, you will both architect solutions and write code, while coordinating with teams across software, robotics, automation, and production engineering.

Job Responsibilities

•    Design and implement full-stack digitalization architectures integrating automation, robotics, software systems, and factory simulation technologies
•    Lead and coordinate digitalization projects across internal, national, and international scopes, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and sustainability goals
•    Drive standardization of digitalization processes across teams and departments, integrating multidisciplinary work into scalable solutions
•    Design and deploy industrial IoT solutions, including edge computing, sensor integration, and communication protocols
•    Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and development infrastructure
•    Contribute to strategic roadmap development and long-term innovation planning for digital initiatives
•    Act as a key technical liaison across cross-functional teams, aligning software, robotics, and automation work toward unified goals
•    Support the development of sustainable, reconfigurable industrial automation systems enabling mass customization
•    Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentoring of junior engineers and thesis students

Qualifications & Personal skills

•    5–10 years of work experience in industrial digitalization, automation, or a related field
•    Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
•    Strong full-stack development knowledge with back-end technologies (e.g., Python, Node.js) and front-end frameworks (e.g., React, JavaScript, HTML/CSS)
•    Experience with databases , both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and graph-based (e.g., Neo4j)
•    Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, and system integration patterns
•    Demonstrated experience in robotics, industrial automation, or manufacturing digitalization
•    Ability to lead technical projects independently and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams
•    Experience in manufacturing and production environments
•    Strong communication and teamwork skills
•    Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git, GitLab)
•    Proficiency in English


Preferred Qualifications
•    Experience with IoT communication protocols (MQTT, OPC UA, AMQP)
•    Knowledge of edge computing platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson)
•    Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
•    Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD)
•    Experience with 3D visualization, simulation, or digital twin technologies
•    Familiarity with industrial standards and frameworks (Digital Product Passport, digital thread concepts)
•    Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
•    Background in coordinating national or international research/innovation projects
•    Proficiency in Swedish
