About the job

As our Global Six Sigma Master Black Belt (MBB) you are a Lean Thinker with a very high level of expertise in Six Sigma Methodologies. Through your development of Six Sigma capability across GKN Aerospace,you will play a central role in developing the organisation into a Lean enterprise. You will lead, coach and influence Site Leadership Teams as you identify opportunities for the application of the Six Sigma discipline across all of GKN Aerospace’s sites globally. You will report to the VP Lean academy and will be part of our global Lean Excellence team. Your focus will be our Europe and Asia sites. You are preferably based in Sweden OR in the UK

Your responsibilities

  • You develop and maintain the Six Sigma strategy across the sites, taking into account the business opportunity and the voice of the customer.
  • You jointly deliver measureable results in improvement in People engagement, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory.
  • You provide leadership, coaching and training in Six Sigma methodologies, creating a network of trained and certified Six Sigma Black Belts and Green Belts.
  • You coach and hold accountable Site Leadership teams and Site Lean Leaders in their utilisation of Six Sigma methodologies for their plant improvements projects and operational improvements, in alignment with yearly budget plans.
  • You advise the Regional Lean Deployment teams in the appropriate use of Six Sigma methodologies.
  • You ensure best practice sharing across sites, regions, and divisions such as champion involvement, continued development and utilisation of the certified Six Sigma Community.
  • You facilitate improvement implementation through targeted Six Sigma interventions: such as Value stream design, Employee engagement, kaizen events, Training , workshops 
  • You are a Teambuilder, act as a coach and change agent;
  • You are a role model for Safety first, People-centricity, and Lean Leadership.
  • You assure that targeted KPI improvements, including cost savings, are tracked, validated and posted to the site’s operating results.
  • You train and coach to certification, ensuring that the appropriate number of our people are fully certified in Six Sigma at the appropriate level for their role.
  • You build knowledge and best practice networks both internally and externally and you are developing yourself as a thought leader in the field of Six Sigma methodologies.
     

What do you need to be successful in this role

  • You have a Bachelor or Master level degree or equivalent experience.
  • You have Min. 10 years’ experience in manufacturing environment with exposure to a Lean Operating Model / Business System.
  • You have a Six Sigma Black Belt level certification by a recognised body or company
  • You have the ability to work effectively in a team environment – to effectively listen, facilitate, challenge, communicate and motivate multifunctional teams and employees at all levels of the organisation.
  • You have proficient oral and written communication skills in Business English.
  • You are a proven leader within a relevant discipline and a quick learner who is adaptive to and embraces change.
  • You drive for operational excellence and business results and interacts effectively at all levels of the organisation to “get things done.”
  • You envision the future, customer focus, takes measured risks.
  • You have excellent organisational and planning skills as well as the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You have a passion for Lean Deployment at the system level
  • You competence in Change, Performance, Project and Process Management
  • You are a networker and have the ability to influence outside of own team.
  • You are eenergetic, disciplined, focused & has the ability to see beyond temporary set backs.
  • You foster open communication, values learning and is able to build employee effectiveness.
  • You promote essential facilitation and leadership skills.
  • You are a teambuilder and act as a role model in coaching, championing change.
  • You preferably have a Six Sigma Master Black Belt level certification by a recognised body or company
  • You preferably speak the local language , where required
  • You are willing to travel 50-75% of time .Mostly regional travel, some global
