Are you an experienced engineering professional with a strong passion for leadership and airworthiness? We’re seeking an Engineering Manager – Airworthiness Staff to drive success and inspire a team of dedicated professionals!
In this role, you will lead and manage a team of specialists within Airworthiness and Quality. Your leadership will focus on functional competence development, resource management and continuous improvement. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the team’s performance, development, and impact on key programs and business projects, while also contributing as a key member of the GKN Aerospace Sweden Design Engineering management team.
Your Leadership Responsibilities:
As a leader, you will:
• Inspire and guide your team towards excellence, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Support the Chief of the Office of Airworthiness to ensure that DOA approvals and customer agreements are fulfilled with precision and compliance.
• Drive the professional growth and competence development of your team, including identifying and delivering airworthiness training.
• Build and sustain an environment where individual strengths contribute to collective success, encouraging empowerment and accountability.
• Provide technical and process leadership to ensure compliance with airworthiness regulations and organizational goals.
• Actively engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, driving alignment with broader organizational objectives.
• Take ownership of the department’s functional budget and strategic initiatives.
Key Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this leadership role, you should have:
• A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an engineering-related field.
• Proven leadership skills, including experience managing teams, coaching, and driving organizational success.
• Fluency in Swedish and English at a professional level.
• Experience in engineering environments, ideally within the aerospace sector.
• Knowledge of airworthiness systems or authority-regulated industries.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Expertise
• Training in airworthiness systems.
• Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience in functional and/or operational management.
• Familiarity with EASA/FAA design office requirements.
