Job Summary

GKN are currently looking to recruit someone with these interests, and who will contribute knowledge to our product team here in Structures & Cases. Experience in production deviation management is an asset.

We are now actively looking for an individual for the PW1000 program!

The Structures & Cases department develops new products and manages in-service components for civil programs. The role involves being the primary contact within the design organization, liaising with the manufacturing team and addressing all deviations within production. You will ultimately act as a Non-Conformance Engineer (NCE) for the products and be responsible for signing off all deviations before delivery to our customers.

The role includes coordinating the work within the design team, together with our own experts within GKN in areas such as solid mechanics, materials and related processes, to ensure that all technical requirements are justified before closing. You will be responsible for all technical communication with the customer Pratt & Whitney and external suppliers.
As an NCE, you will manage deviations on GKN products for Pratt & Whitney. You will be part of a design team, with colleagues in Sweden, India and the USA. You will strengthen our Structures & Cases design team, have the opportunity to expand your knowledge, grow within the role and develop within our design organization.

Job Responsibilities


Among others, the following responsibilities and expectations include:

  • Support the team leader with planning, driving and coordinating deviations in accordance with our delivery targets
  • Management of remaining deviations from manufacturing and external suppliers
  • Work together with manufacturing to develop repair procedures and be the main approver
  • Provide reflection and recommendations for design improvements to reduce deviations


Furthermore, we want you to actively contribute to the department's goals, strategy and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications and personal skills

We are looking for someone who is comfortable taking on a large amount of individual responsibility and being part of a team. You should feel comfortable communicating with all parties both within the company and externally with customers and suppliers. In addition, we see that you contribute to creating a positive atmosphere and act as a role model within the team.


Requirements for the position are:

• Engineering education as BSc or equivalent
• Very good verbal and written skills in both English and Swedish

Meritorious for the position are:

• Experience in deviation management from production
• Experience and product knowledge of GKN components
