Job Summary

As Data Governance Specialist, you will play a key role in establishing and maturing enterprise-wide data governance practices. You ensure that data across the organization is trustworthy, well defined, compliant, and usable.
You develop and operationalize data governance frameworks, enable data ownership structures, and support data quality, metadata management, and compliance initiatives. Your work strengthens our data foundation and enables the business to make reliable, data driven decisions.

Job Responsibilities

• Establish and develop data governance frameworks, processes, and standards
• Drive the implementation of data ownership and data stewardship across domains
• Maintain and improve structures for data classification, metadata management, data cataloguing and data pipelining
• Support and advance the use of data governance tools
• Enable GDPR, regulatory compliance, and alignment with internal security and cyber requirements
• Collaborate with IT, Cyber, Enterprise Architecture, and business stakeholders on data quality and lifecycle management
• Provide education and communication that strengthen data literacy and shared understanding
• Track progress, risks, and maturity of data governance initiatives and propose improvements

You build trust through openness, consistency, and an enterprise wide perspective. You enjoy enabling teams to use data in a safe, compliant, and value creating way.


Requirements:

• Experience in Data Governance, information management, or data quality work
• Understanding of metadata, data models, data catalogues, and data lifecycle management
• Experience with data governance tools (Microsoft Purview is a plus)
• Ability to translate complex data concepts into clear guidance
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
• Organized, analytical, and able to work independently when needed


Desirable:
• Experience within aerospace, defence, or similarly regulated industries
• Knowledge of information security frameworks (e.g. ISO 27000, NIST, NIS2)
• Understanding of data architecture, BI/analytics platforms, or integration landscapes

This position is based in Trollhättan, Sweden, as such, the applicant should be able to gain the right to live and work in Sweden. Travel to other locations within the global GKN Aerospace group is expected.
