Job Summary

Provide leadership by proactively clearing a path to success for the IPT and stakeholders, inspiring and ensuring deep understanding of OEM customer needs and GKN’s value proposition to support business growth.
You will act and not re-act, and have the ability to balance contradicting inputs. You are self-driven and results-oriented with the ability to find new opportunities and create strong relationships with the customers.

Job Responsibilities

  •      Responsible for the customer segment strategy.
  •      Responsible for development of customer specific growth plans, including input on engineering solutions and
         strategic spend as well as sales strategy with customer above market growth.
  •      Clear understanding of customer needs and a view of future product offer pending different potential architectures,
         including developing customer specific product roadmaps leveraging GKN capabilities. 
  •      Represent GKN in Engineering discussions with customer and responsible for the engineering-to-engineering relationship. 
  •      Identify business development opportunities by studying competitor products, technical problems, market intelligence,
         and identifying trends. Pursues teaming and partnering alliances with other companies. 
  •      Internal “voice of the customer” stakeholder to influence GKN’s future technology, engineering and
         repair development according to customer needs. 
  •      Align our demonstrator development work with our commercial strategy, and ensure seamless transfer to product development.
  •      Governance of the PD & NPI project portfolio, including LCG management. 
  •      Setup, plan, create customer project directives and represent Customer Segment in applicable Steering Committees.
  •      Facilitate cross-functional/BU project prioritization execution from a Customer Segment perspective.
  •      Responsible to assure that resource spend is in line with target (PD and NPI).
  •      Responsible for project portfolio aligned with customer strategy and targets. 
  •      Champions the GKN 5 cultural principles.

Job Qualifications

•    Broad knowledge and network across of the Aerospace industry and market
•    Engineering and/or R&T experience 
•    Ability to proactively create, manage and execute strategies and tactical plans 
•    Ability to operate and influence at appropriate levels both internally and externally
•    Good interpersonal and communication skills 
•    Tenacity 
•    Ability to anticipate future trends based on market intelligence 
•    Excellent data processing and analytical skills
•    Has a high level of executive disposition
•    Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle, preferably within a prior engine OEM program at GKN
