Job Summary

The role involves leading, planning, reviewing, communicating, and enhancing the work within your solid mechanics team, as well as performing advanced solid mechanical simulations yourself.

You are a skilled solid mechanical engineer with experience in GKN aerospace products. You have extensive expertise in ANSYS and are adept at understanding complex structural mechanics and scripting challenges. You possess the ability to make sound judgments and have a strong interest in leading and developing a team and its members.

The primary focus will be to establish conditions that maximize the team's potential and output.
 

Job Responsibilities

•    Responsible for the project's analysis deliverables, ensuring quality and timeliness.
•    Establish a team organization that maximizes learning, quality, and throughput.
•    Lead the solid mechanics team to achieve these goals.
•    Plan the team's work, ensuring an even distribution of the workload.
•    Develop a thorough understanding of the product’s legacy, including past actions and methods, to inform current and future work.
•    Ensure proper documentation of technical results and present these results both internally and externally.
•    Maintain the continuous airworthiness of our certified products by analyzing field events and proposing actions.
•    Continuously improve team management and organization, as well as communication with customers and suppliers.

Candidate Profile

You are a mechanical engineer with a deep understanding of the structural integrity of structures and cases. You are a problem solver who feels energized when facing technical challenges. You can easily move from details to the big picture and overall trends. You have the experience to judge what needs to be done and what does not.
You are also a leader with a strong interest in maintaining plans, following up on progress, and presenting results to customers. Most of all you have the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide team members. You have an ability to create plans that are easy to understand, follow, track, and adjust, with natural milestones, moderately detailed.
 

Job Qualifications


•    You hold a Master's degree in Applied Mechanics or a related field.
•    Your knowledge in solid mechanics and material science is robust, allowing you to tackle challenges
      related to structural integrity, material properties, and component performance.
•    You have experience with ANSYS software.
•    You can easily move from details to the big picture and overall trends. 
•    Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide team members towards common goals.
•    You have an ability to create plans that are easy to understand, follow, track, and adjust,
      with natural milestones, moderately detailed.
