Job Summary
Are you an experienced aerospace engineer passionate about ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance in aircraft engine development? We’re seeking an Compliance Verification Engineer to join our team at GKN Aerospace, a leader in civil aircraft engine technology. In this critical role, you will ensure our products meet stringent regulatory (EASA, FAA), safety, and customer requirements, contributing to the certification and production of world-class aircraft engine parts.
You will focus on the static load-carrying structures that form the backbone of our customers’ engines in production and service. Expect to chair or review compliance assessments for next-generation demonstrators and ensure designs meet all regulatory and safety standards from early concept through full-scale development and certification.
Job Responsibilities
• Verify that design data meet regulatory, safety, and performance standards, issuing compliance assurances.
• Conduct independent reviews of design processes to ensure quality and adherence to aviation regulations.
• Validate design changes, ensuring alignment with airworthiness and customer requirements.
• Prepare and approve documentation to support product certification and regulatory compliance.
• Stay updated on aviation regulations (e.g., EASA Part 21, FAA, AS9100) and apply them to product development.
Beyond this, you will actively contribute to the department’s goals, strategy, and continuous improvement efforts.
Job Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in mechanical, aerospace engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 12+ years in engineering
• Fluent in English (written and verbal); Swedish is a plus.
• Knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., EASA, FAA, AS9100) and airworthiness standards.
• Desirable: Experience with compliance & certification processes, design/method reviews, design assurance, and/or cross-functional projects.
Personal characteristics
We’re looking for someone who thrives on taking significant individual responsibility and applying exceptional analytical skills. Capability to perform independent reviews with impartiality, ensuring unbiased evaluations of design and quality processes. Ability to critically analyze technical data, identify non-conformities, and make informed decisions on compliance. It is desirable to have clear and precise communication skills to document findings, issue compliance assurances, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external experts.
