Job Summary
Certified entity/site based role that operates under the respective Site Quality Systems Manager. Their primary purpose is to administer the local QMS/BMS in accordance with the GKN Aerospace Global Standards and local tailoring and to provide core support to the entity/site Leadership team in achieving compliant and effective QMS/BMS.
Job Responsibilities
- The maintenance and improvement of the local QMS/BMS ensuring the QMS/BMS fulfils the requirements of the industry standards, applicable Aviation Safety laws, customer & GKN Aerospace Global Standards requirements.
- Working with the Quality Systems Regulatory Knowledge & Compliance Lead and Local Business Process Implementer (LBPI) for the compliance, effectiveness and efficient coherence of the local QMS and integration (BMS) with other Management Systems such as the Safety Management System, Health & Safety (ISO 45001), Environmental (ISO 14001), Energy Management (ISO 50001), Information Security (ISO 27001) etc. as applicable to the organisation.
- Act as business partner, supporting Local Business Process Managers (LBPM) and associated stakeholders for the definition, deployment, maintenance of the documented information of the local QMS/BMS.
- Manage the change control procedures including impact assessments and recommendations against Business Objectives, GKN Aerospace Global Standards, Regulatory / Industry standard amendments and coordination of governance reviews for any changes.
- To recommend to LBPI and the Site Quality Systems Manager of any assurance activities deemed necessary in support of QMS/BMS activities e.g. risk assessments, change implementation planning, training, verification, post deployment of significant document/administration changes.
- To provide general QMS/BMS administration support to Site Quality Systems Manager as defined at a local level, typically support to the management of key QMS/BMS meetings, QS induction / training activities, customer/3rd party meeting/audit preparation/hosting and follow-up. To provide functional support for Quality Management and Information applications.
- To act as a QMS/BMS Change/Training facilitator supporting workshop and QMS/BMS Continuous Improvement activities.
- As required to act as an internal auditor and/or provide support for audit planning, auditing and audit follow up.
- Gather / analyse intelligence and data to in support of Management Review, enabling assessment of the QMS/BMS suitability and effectiveness, associated risks and opportunities and need for change/improvement.
- Evaluate business processes for the purpose of assessing effectiveness, driving efficiency and quality improvements;
- Support, as directed, for the conduct of quality/compliance investigations to establish root causes and assist other LBPI areas with corrective action.
- Note: Individual can perform this role as a task within another role if appropriate and capacity is properly catered for.
Job Qualifications
- 2-year degree in vocational or technical education, certification, or training; will also consider equivalent combination years of professional industry experience.
- 2 year combination experience in application of the IAQG and ISO Standards (e.g. AS/EN9100 / ISO 9001), IAQGSCMH and Aerospace and defense regulations such as EASA/EMAR part 21G, J and part 145 as applicable (site specific), knowledge and experience in the application of Risk Management and Process Approach, and experience/understanding of the development, deployment and through life management of QMS/BMS and Document/Change Management tools.
- U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors preferred.
- Bachelors preferred with strong written and oral communication skills.
- IT skills: Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Quality Management and Information applications (site-specific), example TipQA.
- Accuracy & Attention to Detail: checks work for errors, performs routine or repetitious tasks with care and attention, and understands the importance of detail.
- Self-Disciplined: proactive, works systematically, uses time efficiently, and has the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to work independently and meet aggressive targets
- Industry experience within a Manufacturing environment (APQP) preferably aerospace/automotive.
- Knowledge of the APQC PCF (Process Classification Framework).
- Ability to build relationships across functional / site teams.
- Internal or Lead Auditor trained/experienced.
- Strong facilitation skills to support process improvement activities
