Financial Analyst – Bids & Proposals (Defense Programs)

Are you someone who enjoys digging into data, building smart financial models, and helping teams make confident decisions? We’re looking for a Financial Analyst to support our Defense Business Line in Tallassee, Alabama. In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop pricing strategies, support proposals, and provide financial insights that shape the future of our aerospace programs.

What You'll Do

  • Support the full proposal process—from analyzing costs to building pricing models and preparing business cases.
  • Work with operations, supply chain, and engineering to estimate costs for new and existing parts and assemblies.
  • Use tools like Cincom ERP, OneStream, and TM1 to analyze financial data and create clear, actionable reports.
  • Help develop forward-looking analytics and visualizations to support strategic decisions.
  • Break down customer margins by contract, model, and part number—and help teams understand where improvements can be made.
  • Coordinate with supply chain to ensure all quotes and data are submitted on time for bid packages.
  • Create and document basis of estimate rationales for recurring and nonrecurring costs.
  • Ensure pricing is compliant with FAR/CAS regulations and internal guidelines.
  • Support internal Gate Reviews by preparing financial summaries and presenting key insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tools, processes, and reporting methods.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and the ability to read technical drawings.
  • U.S. Person status (Citizen, Green Card holder, refugee, or asylee) per ITAR requirements.

What Helps You Stand Out

  • Experience with tools like SAP, Oracle, Cincom, OneStream, TM1, or Hyperion.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Background in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
  • Ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience with costing standards, forward-pricing rates, and proposal documentation.
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Experience with Tableau or similar visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with DoD proposals, RFPs, and cost volume writing is a plus.
