Job Summary

The facilities technician is responsible for facility related tasks and over all building maintenance, internally and externally, to support the achievements of the sites business goals and objectives. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures execution of all maintenance relating to interior / exterior facility conditions and appearance of the properties.
  • Performs minor interior and exterior facility maintenance duties, including, but not limited to, painting, caulking, cleaning, repair and replacement of general architectural finishes (i.e. holes in drywall, damaged ceiling tiles, etc.).
  • Troubleshoots and performs minor facility plumbing and HVAC maintenance. 
  • Plans, performs, and maintains electronic documents required for the maintenance/facilities department to ensure a smooth operation. This will include doing some document control, performing research, entering data, submitting documents for approval, ordering supplies, equipment, or materials necessary to complete projects, etc.
  • Maintains and performs duties that ensure the security of the buildings as required.
  • Inspects the facility and other structures to detect malfunctions or necessary repairs as required.
  • Together with EHS, assist in managing all outside vendors and contractors related to facilities maintenances.
  • Responsible for facility walk through and all general facility related maintenance needs.
  • Together with the EHS, document facility regulatory and internal inspections/audits and assists in organizing and tracking corrective action plans.
  • Interfaces with outside vendors, contractors and engineers regarding facilities, chemicals and other workplace EHS & facilities related matters. 
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of facility maintenance.
  • Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due. 
  • Performs daily housekeeping tasks to provide a safe, clean and orderly workplace. 
  • Performs preventative and routine maintenance to Facilities. 
  • Uses a variety of hand a power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Complies with safety and health rules. 

Basic Qualifications 
•    5+ years of Mechanical and/or electrical experience 
•    High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate up, down, and across the business 
•    Strong computer skills 
•    Able to read blue prints
•    Proven structured Problem Solving experience
•    Equipment/building maintenance experience in the Aerospace industry
•    Knowledge of Maintenance Systems (CMMS)
