At GKN Aerospace Tallassee, you'll help build advanced aerospace components used by some of the world's leading aviation and defense programs. As part of a team with more than 40 years of history, you'll apply your experience to complex aerospace programs, work alongside skilled colleagues, and continue building a career with opportunities to grow.

What you'll do

• Perform advanced manufacturing and assembly operations on aerospace components 

• Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and technical documentation independently 

• Identify and resolve production or quality issues 

• Carry out inspections and help maintain aerospace quality standards 

• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment 

• Mentor and support less experienced operators, helping to develop skills across the team 

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency and safety 

• Support the production of components used in leading aerospace and defense programs 

What we're looking for

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two to five years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing or related production environments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Experience working as part of a collaborative manufacturing team
  • A&P or FAA Aircraft maintenance experience is a plus
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen) per ITAR regulations to comply with export control requirements

 

Physical requirements 

This role involves standing, bending, reaching, and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods. Candidates should be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs and work safely in a manufacturing environment using appropriate personal protective equipment.
