Job Summary

Perform general accounting task such as processing, recording and analysis of financial transactions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll.  Hands on process ownership to ensure the timely and accurate payment of supplier invoicing and payment processing, accounts receivable cash application and processing, general ledger accounting and reconciliation of cash, account payable, account receivable and payroll related transactions.  Develop and implement continuous process improvements to drive high quality of transactions and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accurate and timely application of cash from customers.  Apply payments to open receivables account and provide accurate accounting at month-end.  Prepare and manage weekly/monthly meeting on aged items
  • Responsible for processing of invoices, payables accounting and system entry, AP check runs, intercompany billings/collections, AP related accounting.
  • Responsible for the administration of the expense reports reimbursements to employees through Concur and purchase cards reconciliation and payment by GKN to Citibank
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely payment of payroll and related withholding. 
  • Prepare and record payroll journal entries, accruals, and general ledger account reconciliations. Post cash transactions to general ledger from the various bank statements.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement changes related to areas of responsibility.  Lead change and seek productivity improvements.
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance. 
  • Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned. 



Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting of finance
  • 1 years of professional experience accounting and/or finance 
  • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements


Preferred Qualification

  • Able to work with minimal supervision and is responsible to independently evaluate a broad range of critical decisions and present recommended actions to senior-level management.
  • Proven strong analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying accounting issues and providing effective resolution.
  • Excellent personal computer skills including Excel, Word, Access and Power Point.
  • Excellent written, verbal and collaboration skills
  • Strong customer service commitment
  • Knowledge of GKN customer base & accounting operations desired
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution skills


Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to spend long hours sitting at a work stations.
  • May be required to walk or stand for brief periods.
  • May be required to use stairs when elevator is not available.
  • May occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 25 pounds of office supplies and materials.  
  • May be required to reach with arms and hands and to stoop, kneel or crouch.
