Job Summary

The assist Information Security Systems Managaer with organization's Information Assurance program. Support Information Assurance program and provide oversight for IT security policy, processes, standards, guidelines and training for maximum safeguarding of IT assets through efficient, creative and progressive security concepts. 

Job Responsibilities

Must obtain and maintain DOD IAT Level 1 Certification (Security+ or equivalent)


Principal Responsibilities:
• Assist the ISSM in meeting their duties and responsibilities.  The ISSO shall assume ISSM responsibilities in the absence of the ISSM.
• Ensure systems are operated, maintained and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures as outlined in the security authorization package.
• Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package.
• Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly.
• Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals.
• Ensure all audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented (to include any anomalies).

Personnel Security (PERSEC) duties
• Coordinate with the CPSO on personnel security matters
• Process security clearances to include obtaining of documentation, maintaining the security database, and access to Government Clearance Systems.
• Process program access requests.
• Process and track program visit requirements.
• Maintain the program visitor list based on incoming visit requests.
• Process outgoing program visits.

Communications Security (COMESC) duties
• Maintain accountable COMSEC material to include material receipts, inventory lists, transfer reports, and destruction reports.
• Coordinate with COMSEC Manager to ensure the proper documentation is being logged to the required standards.
• Load COMSEC keys into encryption devices.
• Maintain all COMSEC hardware and coordinate with COMSEC Manager for repair of replacement of equipment as necessary.

2) Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or MIS required and 3 years of experience in Information Technology –OR- in lieu of degree, 7 years of experience in Information Technology
  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant knowledge of security protocols, applications and authentication. 
  • Experience with COMSEC and associated equipment (SKL, KG-175)
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop employees.
  • Ability to influence and manage change.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations.
  • Must possess a solid business sense to analyze IT viability and strategic vision.
  • Excellent written, verbal and collaboration skills


Physical Demands

• Frequently required to spend long hours sitting at a workstation.
• May be required to walk or stand for brief periods
• May be required to use stairs when elevator is not available
• May occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 25 pounds of office supplies and materials 
• May be required to reach with arms and hands and to stoop, kneel or crouch
