Job Summary

As NDT Level II, you will perform Nondestructive Testing (NDT) tasks typical of a certified NAS 410, Level 2 in a manufacturing environment on aircraft parts and assemblies, using various Ultrasonic and Radiographic conventional and automated systems. Other nondestructive testing (NDT) methods may also include Eddy Current Testing and Leak Detection.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform Nondestructive Testing (NDT) on aircraft parts (Composite & Metallic) in accordance with test procedures and customer process specifications. Verify product conformance and document test results.
  • Operate test equipment; such as: Automated C-scan, Static and Robotic X-ray, Computed Radiography, A-scan, Resonance and possibly Eddy Current, Phased Array UT and Helium Mass Spectrometer Leak Detection equipment.
  • Interface with engineers and manufacturing personnel to provide Nondestructive Testing (NDT) results and assist in process improvements, as needed.
  • Train and provide guidance to GKN Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician I's and Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician II's
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance. 
  • Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned. 

Job Qualifications

  • Technical degree or Certificate of Completion in Nondestructive testing (NDT) and/or inspection (NDI). 
  • 2 years of experience in Nondestructive Testing (NDT) of manufacturing and fabricated products.
  • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in UT and/or RT Nondestructive Testing (NDT)
  • NAS 410 Level 2 certification.
  • Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Tech III with experience in NAS-410 Level 2, in the applicable test method (UT, RT, etc…).
  • Knowledge of conventional and automated testing systems and understand Nondestructive Testing (NDT) theory and computer systems. 
  • General familiarity with computers and associated software.
  • Able to work independently and effectively with teams.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and collaboration skills
