Job Summary

Define and review KPIs, perform analysis, drive continuous improvement projects, define methodology / standard work, manage and monitor performance in the area of warehousing, logistics, and material flow at site level. The role can cover the following (all or partially): Inbound / Receiving, internal material movement, warehousing, outbound / shipping, freight/transport management, cycle counting, inventory management, transactional activities, packaging.

Job Responsibilities

  • Focused on inventory through cycle counts to ensure physical inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure safe working environment.
  • Define standard work for logistics activities with the objectives of reducing lead-time, reducing cost, improving customer service (quality and delivery)
  • Define and manage relationship with external partners (suppliers, sub-contractors, freight forwarders, 3PL, customers) in relation to the logistics activities (e.g. receiving/shipping schedules, documentation, EDI….)
  • Develop process to ensure transactional activities will guarantee inventory accuracy in the management system (ERP, MRP).
  • Analyze performance and defines action plans to improve in line with the site Supply Chain CI plan.
  • Strong problem solving skills to support various initiative (i.e. inventory storage and throughout manufacturing plant)

The role of Logistics Specialist will be responsible in scope for developing process and improvement activities in the following APQC subjects for the relevant site(s): 
4.4 Manage logistics and warehousing
o    4.4.2 “Plan and manage inbound material flow”
o    4.4.3 “Operate warehousing”
o    4.4.4 “Operate outbound transportation”
o    4.4.5 “Manage returns; manage reverse logistics”
o    4.4.6 “Plan material handling and storage”
o    4.4.7 “Manage inventory storage, location and movement”
o    4.4.9 “Manage kitting operations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in logistics or related fields; Will consider high school diploma or GED and 8 years of professional experience in logistics for manufacturing in lieu of degree.
  • 5 years of Manufacturing or Warehousing and logistics experience, including some ERP/ MRP experience.
  • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Strong problem solving skills to support various initiative (i.e. inventory storage and throughout manufacturing plant)
  • Vocational Certificate
  • ERP/ MRP expertise particularly for transactional flow
  • Value Stream Mapping, & Lean experience
