Job Summary

HR Coordinator is focused on helping the HR team accomplish HR-related tasks to support the GKN planned site closure in 2023.  Their work involves carrying out administrative and tactical steps required to administer the HR function in the areas of leave administration, rewards, HRIS system updates scheduled compliance requirements, employee onboarding and off-boarding, standard reporting and support to HR as the HRIS champion. 

Job Responsibilities

Leave Administration

  • Assist with tracking and administration of all leaves to include: FLMA, STD, LTD and Workers Compensation Leaves 
  • Assist with tracking and administration Workers Compensation first report of injury, return to work and light duty assignments 


  • Assist with processing of all attendance tracking to include points administration

Recruitment/New Hire Process

  • Assists in onboarding efforts, collection, data entry, and processing of relevant candidate and new hire information; reporting
  • Preparation and maintenance of employee files; conducting onboarding and orientation activities, and acting as a point person for all new employee questions.

Record Maintenance

  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and auditing complete and accurate HR files and databases relating to all employment and benefits-related records
  • Reporting 
  • Respond to unemployment claims, verifications of employment and faxes
  • Provide standardized reporting to HR team and training on report generation
  • Assist in the development and distribution of data and reporting as required, including preparing reporting in PowerPoint for site HR teams / site leadership teams

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 1 year of professional experience in like environment required
  • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements

  • Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze key processes/systems, identify key risks and develop system-driven solutions, in conjunction with key stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex and fast-paced environment. 
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate simply and effectively system requirements and operations.
  • HR process knowledge and experience of HR Business Process framework perferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (incl. Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to effectively work autonomously with the support of the site HR leadership team
