Job Summary

The role of the Director of Quality is to plan, coordinate and direct quality assurance and manufacturing engineering programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with establish standards, through the use of continuous improvement tools and total quality tools. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight for the development and maintenance of quality programs, systems, processes and procedures that ensure compliance with policies and that the performance and quality of services conform to established standards and agency guidelines. 
  • Oversees the development, evaluation, or review of manufacturing engineering plans and criteria for a variety of activities, assesses feasibility of proposed plans, projects and equipment.
  • Prove expertise and guidance in interpreting policies, regulator and/or government regulations, and agency guidelines to assure compliance. 
  • Evaluate and approve bid estimates for new work. 
  • Review and approve Engineering Orders, Evaluate and assist in creating planning documents. 
  • Work directly with operating entities to provide process analyses oversight on a continuing basis to enforce requirements and meet guidelines. 
  • Lead audit and inspection preparation, resolution of audit and inspection findings and liaises with auditing groups and inspectors through all stages of the audits. 
  • Co-ordinate legal request in support of government investigations or litigations. 
  • Ensure the quality assurance programs and policies are maintained and modified regularly. Facilities uniform standards worldwide and enables best practice sharing, thereby fostering the achievement of company’s mission globally. 
  • Drive cost reduction programs related to scrap, rework, and repair activities. 
  • Continually develop and integrate the quality system within the business and the business culture.
  • Develop an understanding of customer requirements, and is the focal for technical issues, and product related issues. 
  • Develop and implement improvement strategies with the supply base. 

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in technical discipline, such as quality engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields, or Graduate studies in Engineering or Business
  • 10 years experience in aerospace manufacturing or related industries
  • U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a Department of Defense Security Clearance.
  • Must be a US Persons able to comply with ITAR regulations and site SSA requirements. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing manufacturing engineers, inspection personnel in a detail parts and assembly environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Skilled at influencing without responsibility
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace Specifications with multiple customers’ desirable, such as Pratt & Whitney, Lockheed, Boeing, etc.
