Job Summary

The Cost/Schedule Financial Analyst ensures compliance with government contracting while interacting with subject matter experts. This includes applying project management fundamentals to customer contractual changes. Makes suggestions to close actions to senior management using financial and business information and experience. Develops, reviews, analyzes and maintains team impacts for cost and/or schedule performance measurement baselines, including earned value, and communicates cost and/or schedule trends to internal and external customers Position requires a working knowledge of the Earned Value Management (EVM) Industry Standard, ANSI/EIA 748 (current version) and applicable DCAA/DCMA requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports program teams in the development and preparation of program baselines and financial forecasts, estimate at complete (EAC) development and reviews, preparation of financial packages, EVMS reporting and compliance support, audit support, baseline development and internal integrated baseline reviews, financial and investigative analysis, and real-time information and analysis to PMs, CAMs and Finance Management
  • Closely supports PM team and collaborates with other functions including scheduling, contracts, procurement and central finance
  • Gather and analyze budgetary data. Compiles data results for leaders and subject matter experts to review.
  • Provides analysis and reports using tools as required to ensure contract compliance / accuracy.
  • Interacts with internal customers for program analysis and performance
  • Supports EVMS policy, process, tools, training and performance assessment in accordance with ANSI EVMS 32 guidelines
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance.
  • Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent degree; Any equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable in lieu of Bachelors Degree
  • 2 years of combined experience in Finance or project control and/or government contracting
  • U.S. persons with ability to obtain a Department of Defense Security Clearance.

Additional Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience interacting with Control Account Manager (CAMs) and/or Program Manager is preferred.
  • Experience with budget development, variance analysis, estimates to complete, cost performance reports, control account plans, addressing and actively managing EVMs metrics, for an integrated product team.
  • Hands-on experience with EVM software.
  • Previous experience to investigate and troubleshoot procurement and material related analysis.
  • Capable of meeting required schedules and task deliveries per scheduled plans
  • Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Must be capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to perform financial analysis and familiar with Windows suite.
  • Prior experience in project control and/or government contracting is highly preferred.
  • Able to work well with others, focus on long-term goals and provide leadership to support staff. 
  • Prior experience in DoD or Aerospace
  • Excellent written, verbal and collaboration skills

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to spend long hours sitting at a work stations.
  • May be required to walk or stand for brief periods
  • May be required to use stairs when elevator is not available
  • May occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 25 pounds of office supplies and materials 
  • May be required to reach with arms and hands and to stoop, kneel or crouch
