Job Summary

 

Reporting into the Vice President Procurement and Supply Chain-Defence, the Procurement Projects Manager can be based out of any our UK sites (Bristol, Portsmouth, Isle of Wight or Luton). There is fully remote or hybrid working opportunities for candidates who are in reasonable commutable distance from one of our UK sites depending on business needs. The successful incumbent will also be flexible with regular travel expected between one to two weeks a month to a UK site and ad-hoc limited international travel involved to support suppliers and customers. 

 

The Procurement Projects Manager will interface with the Site Procurement Projects teams to coordinate project activities and execute the delivery of procurement projects through new work bid activity, work transfers, new product introduction (NPI). This position will be responsible for driving initiatives and coordinating global teams to build a robust sourcing strategy for Programmes and the development of strategies to achieve Business Line Procurement/Programme cost challenges. 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Leading communication with internal and external stakeholders to deliver Procurement projects linked with the Business Line and Programme
  • Accountable for the on-time and successful delivery of complex Procurement projects with robust project and risk management 
  • Accountable for the completion of complex supplier rate readiness reviews and load and capacity activities in support of any Procurement project e.g. work transfers, NPI
  • Accountable for the development of Procurement strategies for the Business Line/Programme and alignment with the Global Commodity team
  • Support the development of Procurement talent and maturing of purchasing systems 
  • Accountable for the development and implementation of initiatives to achieve Procurement challenges and opportunities

How You'll Contribute


To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

 

Essential:

  • A BSc degree in a Business, Engineering, or Science discipline or equivalent strong industry experience 
  • Demonstrable experience within sourcing and/or procurement in a Manufacturing background 
  • A proven track record of delivery of large complex projects
  • Demonstrable experience with working with international teams or supply base 
  • A demonstrated ability to build relations with a supplier network and having insight in suppliers' processes
  • A proven track record of Leadership to work with cross functional teams
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills 

 

Desirable:

  • A Project Management qualification
  • Experience with Project management IT packages e.g. MS Project
  • Experience within the Aerospace industry 
  • A proven track record of yielding significant business results; cost, quality, cash improvements etc.
