Job Summary

 

The Master Scheduler is responsible for the management of the weekly schedule in order to balance demand and supply within available capacity, while setting production and inventory targets. They will orchestrate the cross-functional activities following the GKN Aerospace standard.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

• Orchestrate scheduling activities through the respective weekly and monthly horizons, while supporting actions to achieve schedule during entire MPS horizon.
• Create and maintain schedules to deliver in line with Program’s requirements while maintaining Inventory targets and optimizing site capacity.
• Monitor manufacturing output/performance daily against the schedule, challenging and understanding whenever performance differs from standard.
• Schedule production for specified products and production lines understanding all the physical and manning constraints, ensuring plan is feasible and balanced.
• Lead conference calls with end customer on delivery commitments.
• Provide input for Master Production Schedule and Material Requirement Planning processes.
• Proactively communicate/escalate to the management team potential issues/constraints to trigger preventive actions in order to mitigate supply risk.
• Support Program Management in analyzing Inventory levels in order to optimize/challenge current status and search for improvement opportunities.
• Provide communication/feedback to Programs in case of any potential supply issues and also in order to improve forecast accuracy.
• Liaise with Programs to support and coordinate all production schedules related to new program launch/prototyping activities.
• Ensure relevant KPI’s are monitored and PDCA approach applied with A3 in case of deviation to ensure targets are delivered in a sustainable way (e.g.: Master Schedule Adherence, Customer Past Dues, and Days Inventory Outstanding).
• Monitor stock cover daily in order to avoid stock outs as well as overstocks by adjusting the execution sequence if possible.
• Provide back-up support for schedulers in ERP system.
• Support continuous improvement projects/activities.

 

Job Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:
 
• Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain –OR- in lieu of degree, 4+ years of experience with scheduling and/or planning in a manufacturing environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
 
• GKN Experience.
• Proficient with ERP Software and Microsoft Excel.
• APICS CPIM Certification.
