Job Summary

The Buyer will support the HTF7000 Program and carry out procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, cost analysis. They will develop and manage supplier relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement under minimum guidance. The Buyer should be driven, flexible and able to deal with ambiguity. 
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement cycle for assigned suppliers, including PO management, reschedule, expedite that are inline with inventory strategy. reconcile invoice. 
  • Ensures product is delivered on time, of top quality, and at the correct price.
  • Validate and communicate to suppliers all firm orders and forecasts.
  • Anticipate any delivery delay from suppliers and manage emergency activities.
  • Manage all aspects of the supplier relationships, including delivery and quality performance.
  • Proactively communicate/escalate to the management team potential delivery issues/constraints to trigger preventive actions in order to mitigate supply failure risk.
  • Ensure compliance with all GKN policies.
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance. 
  • Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned. 


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain or related discipline required. 
  • 2+ or more years of experience in procurement and/or material control in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Intermediate experience/knowledge of MS Excel required.
  • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and/or site SSA requirements.

  • Effective teamwork, integrity, and collaboration skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective planning, organizing, communication, and conflict management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in an ever changing environment.
  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures. 
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, etc.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Experience in ERP systems (LN) and software.
