Join our Airworthiness team at GKN Fokker Aerospace in Papendrecht as a Technical Incidents Investigator! This unique role involves investigating technical occurrences and incidents reported by Operators, NHI, or Fokker's engineering, production, and subcontractor teams. 

As a Technical Incidents Investigator, you will ensure the safety of the NH90 operating fleet and contribute to design improvements of Fokker components from an airworthiness perspective. Your responsibilities will include creating incident investigation project plans, coordinating and executing relevant activities, and proposing protective and corrective measures. You will meticulously document your findings in relevant systems, report progress to TIPL and AM, and produce detailed Incident and Technical Synthesis Reports (incl. Incident Classification and safety assessment).

What you'll do

  • Technical investigation of incidents/occurrences reported by Operators, NH90 industries or Fokker (engineering, production, subcontractors):
    • Administration in the relevant systems (e.g. CRM),
    • Creation of plan for investigation of the incident,
    • Execution and/or coordination of technical investigation of incident, including safety assessment,
    • Coordinate support from other disciplines (e.g. stress or test department),
    • Propose Protective Measures and Corrective Measures,
    • Reporting of incidents using the NH90-program specific formats, 
    • Initiate follow up of proposed protective and corrective measures (e.g. provide input for Service Bulletins, creation of Change Request).
  • Prepare and check NH-90 specific incident related documents. 
  • Support the Technical Incident Focal Point in preparing reporting/presentations for international meetings at NHI.
  • Support the Technical Incident Project Leader in creation of KPI’s and reporting towards NH90 Flight Safety Board.
  • Support Airworthiness Manager in preparing reporting/presentations for NH90 MT, for international meetings and with Military Aviation Authorities.
  • Participate in relevant meetings such as: 
    • Weekly Incident Progress Meeting,
    • Fokker NH90 Flight Safety Board,
    • Specialist meetings with NHI (NH90 international management office). 

What you'll offer

  • A completed Bachelor’s (or HBO) degree or higher in Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in aerospace.
  • Experienced in or familiar with (military) aerospace regulations (e.g. FAR29, Part-21J, CS25).
  • Familiar with problem solving methods (e.g. 8D, Bow-tie, Fishbone).
  • Knowledge of:
    • EASA Part-21 and/or EMAR-21 regulations
    • Familiar with certification processes
    • Accidents investigation processes
    • High level proficiency in English; knowledge of French and German is helpful
  • Strong analytical skills, quality oriented and result driven. 
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written. 
  • Initiative, Integrity, Independence. 
  • Judgment: ability to make well-informed decisions.
  • Honed planning & organizational skills.
  • Cooperative. 
  • Fluent in English.
