Job Summary
The Warehouse Team Leader acts as the representative and primary point of contact of the warehouse. In this role, he/she takes care of the supervision and daily work co-ordination within the warehouse of Fokker Elmo NL.
Job Responsibilities
- Taking care of the daily management and supervision of the employees working in his/her team (including for example, work distribution, approval of leave applications [within authorized scope] and personnel motivation) as well as conducting periodically meetings with the team.
- To monitor the performance of his/her subordinates and periodically perform (and report) personnel assessments.
- (Arranging) training of (new/inexperienced) warehouse employees.
- To ensure that the warehouse personnel follow the applicable safety instructions and use the prescribed protective devices to prevent the endangering of health, safety and wellbeing of themselves, colleagues and other personnel (including the proper handling, storage and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with the prescribed regulations).
- To take the necessary measures and precautions to prevent waste and loss of material, tooling and finished products and prevent them from being damaged by foreign objects (FOD), electrostatic discharge (ESD) (if applicable), or handling activities in/by the warehouse and during shipment.
- To strive for continual improvement of the processes (including working conditions/ergonomics) and their output, and to participate in (quality) improvement/lean manufacturing workgroups and production meetings, as appropriate.
- To provide miscellaneous personal service and carriage for other departments (on indication of the superior). (E.g.: assisting with internal transportation, handling and maintenance activities concerning material, production equipment, buildings, premises, etc.)
- Is interface between supply chain and production at shop floor level ensuring material movement is in accordance with operational expectations.
- Develops and optimises all physical and information flows using Lean principles (including company owned external warehouses).
- Ensures actual inventory accuracy and reliability (FIFO and Cycle counting etc).
Job Qualifications
- MBO minimum (major preferably in material management/logistics).
- Average knowledge of the English language, in speaking, writing and reading.
- Leadership experience.
- Knowledge of warehouse management concepts.
- On-the-job training in using Fokker Elmo ERP system (BaaN).
- ESD training course XKF913/ESD/TR (only when handling electrostatic discharge-sensitive devices).
- Use of personal computer and office equipment and (preferably) familiar with ERP system(s) and Windows-operated database programs.
- To be able to communicate, formulate and report in a clear and understandable manner, and to have the necessary power of persuasion to motivate and convince the subordinates to follow the instructions given.
Desireable:
- APICS Certified in Logistics, Transportation and distribution.
- Entry level for Transportation Management, Inbound/Outbound Flow, Internal Flow & Warehousing and End-to-End Supply Chain Mgt.
