Then you are at the right place, because our Centre of Competence - Design & Analysis is growing and we are looking for this person that has an in-depth knowledge in structural engineering of aerostructures, has a critical mindset and the ability to find creative solutions. The Senior Structural Engineer - Stress we are looking for is a self-starter, they can motivate their fellow team members and can take the lead within a team of experts.
Your role as Senior Structural Engineer - Stress
As the Senior Structural Engineer - Stress, you are a member of the CoC Engineering Analysis team focusing on aerostructures. You perform static, dynamic and fatigue calculations based on FE simulations and hand calculations. You are responsible for checking various types of aircraft parts and assemblies, but also for performing structural strength tests by correlating them with the results of the theoretical analysis. Your engineering work is focused on both composite and metal structures, including strength analysis, stiffness, buckling and stability strength, attachment and connection strength, fatigue and damage analysis/tolerance. All the analyses and calculations should be performed in accordance with the corresponding airworthiness requirements.
Your qualifications
We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer - Stress who will bring passion for what they do, they will take initiative in finding solutions and will share their expertise in the field of structural engineering. In order to do this, we are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer - Stress who has at least 7 years of experience and is able to independently perform analytical calculations and work with FE programs such as Patran and Nastran. Furthermore, the Senior Structural Engineer has the following qualifications:
- BSc/MSc in Aerospace / Automotive / Mechanical Engineering,
- Affinity with complex technical systems,
- Knowledge of materials and processes, preferably in aerospace,
- Extensive experience in static strength and fatigue analyses of both metal and composite structures (hand calculations & FE simulations),
- Experience using CATIA to retrieve design data,
- Held previously (delegated) signature authority,
- Experience in managing and coaching technical teams,
- Critical mindset, quality oriented,
- Analytical skills in combination with practical mindset,
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and write technical documentation.

Where do you work? Your office is located in Papendrecht, but we have a hybrid work model. Some travelling will be required, since this role is international.
Work schedule: we expect you to be available to work full-time (40 or 32 hours per week).
