Job Summary

The role of QS Auditor operates singularly and occasionally within teams to perform first party audits of the Business Management Systems and processes against regulatory requirements, industry standards, customer requirements and GKN Aerospace requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the site Quality Manager, you will have the following tasks and responsibilities:


•    Assist the Site Quality Manager in the delivery of audit activities that support the audit plans and schedules.
•    As appropriate, participate in audit engagement planning, scoping, and follow-up activities.
•    When charged with undertaking an audit, providing support in delivering the objectives of the audit, ensuring adequate preparation for the conduct of their respective audit criteria.
•    For single audits, you take the role of Lead Auditor and thus preparing the audit and distributing the audit report and conducting the audit follow up.
•    Assist in larger certification audits that require multiple audit teams.   
•    Propagate Quality Culture across GKN Aerospace.
•    Identify and share across the business, best practices and support continuous improvement of the BMS and its processes.
•    For the evaluation of the audit evidence, non-conformities recommendations / opportunities for improvement and for the communication of subsequent recommendations, including risk identification to the Site Quality Manager. Support the root cause and corrective action activities.

Job Qualifications

To fulfil this role, we ask the following:

•    Fluency in English written and spoken.
•    Has the necessary attitude, interpersonal skills and behavioural characteristics to perform the tasks independently and in accordance with the audit principles defined in ISO19011.
•    Demonstrated knowledge of aviation regulations (EASA, FAA etc.)
•    Demonstrated knowledge of aviation industry and customer specific requirements for quality management (ISO9001/AS9100 and related standards) and experience with QMS Process Approach.
•    Knowledge of the use of APQP/PPAP (AS9145)/Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM).
•    Demonstrated experience with Practical Problem Solving (PPS) and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) techniques to support and ensure effective follow-up of audit findings.
