The vacancy
We are looking for a QMS/BMS Configuration Lead to join the Quality department of Fokker Landing Gear in Papendrecht.
In this role, your goal is to manage related information systems in accordance with GNK Fokker Aerospace Global Standards. In addition, you provide QA support to the Site Quality manager, to whom you will also report.

Fokker Landing Gear has around 350 FTE and is designs, develops produces, assemblies and maintenance complete landing gear systems. We supply our products to leading aerospace companies and our products are used in the Apache helicopter, F-35 Lightning II (JSF), Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the multipurpose NH90 helicopter.
What You'll Do
- Maintaining and improving the local QMS/BMS and ensuring that the local QMS/BMS complies with industry standards, applicable aviation regulations, customer requirements, and GKN Fokker Aerospace standards.
- Collaborating with the Quality Systems Regulatory Knowledge and Compliance Leads and Local Business Process Implementers (LBPIs) to ensure compliance, effectiveness, and consistency of the local QMS and integration (BMS) with other management systems, including Environment (ISO14001), Health & Safety (ISO45001), Energy (ISO50001), Information Security (ISO27001), etc.
- Acting as business partners to local process owners/managers (LBPIs) and other stakeholders for the definition, implementation, and maintenance of the local QMS/BMS.
- Managing change control, including impact assessments and recommendations regarding changes in regulations/industry standards, customer requirements, and GKN Global Standards.
- Advising the LBPIs and Site Quality Systems Manager on carrying out activities necessary to support QA-related efforts, including preparation and follow-up of significant changes through internal and/or external communication, training, audits, etc.
- Providing general QA administrative support to the Site QA Manager, including support for QA meetings, onboarding training, preparing, guiding, and following up on meetings with and audits by external parties.
- Providing functional support for Quality Management and Information Systems.
- Acting as a change/training facilitator in support of workshops and QA improvement activities.
- Acting as an internal auditor and/or providing support in audit preparation, execution, and follow-up.
- Collecting/analyzing information and data to evaluate compliance, adherence, and effectiveness of the QMS/BMS and business processes to identify improvement opportunities and risks.
- Conducting investigations upon request to identify root causes and supporting LBPIs in implementing effective improvement actions.
What You'll Bring
- A completed, relevant higher professional education (HBO) degree, supplemented with recognized qualifications in Business Management and/or Quality Management.
- Proven knowledge of the aerospace industry and customer-specific requirements for quality management (ISO9001/AS9100 and related standards).
- Demonstrated knowledge of aviation regulations (EASA, FAA, EMAR, etc.) as applicable (depending on location).
- Demonstrated experience with the development, implementation, and maintenance of BMS and Change Management tools.
- IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Quality Management and Information Systems.
- Core competencies: communication skills, writing skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and self-discipline.
