Job Summary

As a Project Support Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the support for day-to-day project operations of the business and be responsible for the administration and activities associated with control and monitoring of progress, scope, cost and resource management within a large EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnect System) design and build program.

You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure resource alignment, prepare for customer engagements, assist the Engineering Team Lead, and maintaining project visibility through progress tracking and KPI reporting.

This position is part of the EWIS Functional Design (EFD) team, where responsibilities include analyzing design requirements, conducting trade-off studies, making design decisions, and designing wire harnesses constructions and interconnections (From-To definitions). Also, processing of aircraft systems data packages (files), write technical reports and contribute to continuous functional improvements of our Engineering tooling environment through integration and concurrent engineering with international teams, system suppliers and our customers.

Reporting to the Centre of Competence Manager – EWIS Functional Design, you will receive day-to-day guidance from an Engineering Team Lead within the applicable design and build project/program. The primary workplace is GKN Fokker Elmo in Papendrecht.

What you'll do

•    Compiling and follow up work breakdown structure (WBS), organization breakdown structure, change impact breakdown overviews and project schedule/timelines for batch activities
•    Control and monitoring on progress, scope, costs and resource management and allocation
•    Preparing and maintaining the project outlook ensuring accurate and timely customer reporting
•    Supporting Risk and Opportunity Management activities and managing the risk register to control and mitigate the risk exposure
•    Establishing and controlling robust document management within the project and towards the customer
•    Support creation, coordination and delivery of (change) proposals to customer requests
•    Based on analysis, initiating of improvements/recoveries on on-time delivery of engineering deliverables and delivery schedule adherence in close collaboration with the project team
•    Facilitate effective communication across multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to maintain project visibility
•    Prepare regular KPI reports for internal and customer-facing reviews 
•    Support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives

What you'll bring

Profile:
•    Bachelor’s degree. Electrical or Aerospace engineering is a plus
•    Certification in project management (e.g., IPMA, PMP or PRINCE2)
•    Passion for the aerospace industry
•    Attention to detail and commitment to quality

Experience:
•    Minimal 5 years of experience in project support in an engineering environment
•    Proven experience working in a multi-disciplinary international engineering environment
•    Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Azure).
•    Proficiency in MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio)

Fundamental knowledge of:
•    Project management principles, methods, and standards
•    Stakeholder management and collaboration
•    Configuration management principles
•    Basics of engineering processes (Electrical or Aerospace knowledge considered a plus, not a requirement)

Soft skills:
•    Analytical: Applies strong analytical thinking to assess complex project requirements, identify potential risks, and develop effective project plans and timelines
•    Teamwork: Able to work constructively in a small team taking responsibility for assigned tasks and willing to support other team members in achieving team targets and deadlines
•    Results-driven: Able to plan own work in line with project schedules, reports progress regularly and timely in the event of issues or delays
•    Communication: Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus), with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both speech and writing (including technical reports), and to do so in a proactive and engaging manner.

Who we are

Fokker Elmo, part of GKN Aerospace, is a leading player in the design, manufacturing and support for the Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) for Aerospace and Defense programs. To make the wiring harnesses, we have everything in-house from start to finish. From complete engineering to our final product, the ready-to-use wiring harnesses, we do this for well-known aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus, Collins Aerospace and Lockheed-Martin. We produce these wiring harnesses worldwide at several sites. In Papendrecht we have approximately 1200 employees. This is what Fokker Elmo is all about: quality and therefore airworthiness.
