Manufacturing Engineer (Sub)-Assembly

A position has become vacant within our Manufacturing Engineering department for an enthusiastic and inquisitive Manufacturing Engineer (Sub)-Assembly. We are looking for a new colleague with passion for and experience in Aviation and/or the Aerospace Industry. Within this position you are part of a dedicated Manufacturing Engineering team to support our Production End-line teams.

More specific for the role this vacancy applies to, you are fist point of contact in technical issues in both sub-assembly and assembly departments.

Job responsibilities

  • You are the Point of Contact for technical issues on the shop floor and production area. Acts proactively as a troubleshooter and resolves issues quickly;
  • Responsible for the preparation and managing of part routings;
  • Involved in design change proposals. Responsible for manufacturability;
  • Take the lead in consulting other disciplines (e.g. Process Engineering, Quality, Production Operators and Procurement) when solving technical query’s;
  • Analyze product specifications and determine the production method of articles or operations;
  • Implement changes and improvement projects in production processes;
  • Assess and control production documentation, production times, quality assurance and First Article Inspection (FAI) documents;
  • Develop and implement required tools;
  • Provide advice on - and supervise FAIs;
  • Investigate product deviations (i.e. Non-Conformance Reports) and handle them.

In order to make your start as successful as possible, you will receive an extensive training program. The duration and content depends on your role and the experience you bring with you, and will take place at our location in Helmond. After this training period, in which you get to know the processes within Fokker Landing Gear in detail, you will start working with your colleagues in Papendrecht!

Job requirements

  • Technical Bachelor, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace / Automotive Engineering;
  • Minimum 1-3 years of work experience in production engineering / work preparation;
  • Skilled in reading drawings and familiar with GD&T;
  • Machining knowledge or experience.
