We invest, for example, in the development of hydrogen technology for emission free propulsion and in high voltage high power technology. What will you be doing in the engineering traineeship?
During your traineeship you will be challenged to work on your personal development with the help of the best coaches en mentors. Together with your fellow trainees and coaches you will formulate your personal development objectives. Besides personal development, the first year of the traineeship is also focused on providing specific engineering courses and trainings that will prepare you for your future job. In brief, we offer you a steep learning curve and personal growth.
Whereas the first year of the traineeship is focused on acquiring relevant knowledge and personal development, the second year will be focused on getting to know the wider company by doing 4 assignments for different internal customers. It offers you the possibility to put to practice what you’ve learned in the first year: a combination of working, learning-on-the-job and developing yourself.
In the second year of the traineeship you will be part of a rotational model: every 3 months you will do an assignment at a different department in order to better learn the wider company. As a true global player GKN Aerospace offers the possibility to do 1 assignment at one of our sites abroad. You will get a lot of responsibilities and will enjoy the support of your mentors and colleagues.
What do we require?
You have a degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or similar, or you are in the final stages of finishing your study. You have a strong desire to develop yourself; you can work independently, like to take initiative and enjoy working together to achieve results.

The second year consists of a rotational model in which you do an assignment every 3 months in different departments / sites of GKN Fokker to get to know the wider company. As true global player GKN Aerospace offers the opportunity to do 1 assignment abroad. You get a lot of responsibility from day 1 and get the necessary support from your mentor and experience colleagues.

Place of employment?
Site Papendrecht. Plenty of opportunities to work hybridly (from home / at the office).
Full-time/ part-time?
The role is fulltime (40 of 32 hours per week).
Selection procedure
Part of the selection procedure is doing the necessary security checks and screenings to comply with requirements set by customers, partners and suppliers of GKN Fokker.The onboarding process at Fokker normally takes 3 calendar weeks. It starts with a first round interview with the Talent Acquisition Specialist. A second interview is conducted with one of the engineering managers.
