Are you an experienced project manager within manfacturing industry and available for your next journey? For a startup of a new surface treatment process at our site in Papendrecht, GKN Aerospace is recruiting a Industrialisation Manager Surface Treatment. This project is scheduled to be ready by the end of 2023, but after this project there might be possibilities for other projects. You will be responsible for leading the projects regarding installation and relocation of surface treatment for our Papendrecht site. 

Your responsibilities

  • You actively lead the projects in regards to (further) specification, (re)design and installation/relocation of Surface Treatment for the Papendrecht production site in close cooperation with the Production Manager and Manufacturing Engineering Manager
  • You are actively involved in all phases and strong force for achieving the agreed project objectives within the budget and the agreed term;
  • In terms of technical specifications / challenges, planning, leading and coaching; you will make sure that all involved parties are informed and onboard;
  • You provide the key link between GKN Aerospace, main contractor(s) and subcontractors. 
  • You will be defining work packages and manage people in the team. 

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • You must possess at least a Bachelor Degree or Master Degree, in Chemical Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering;
  • You have a strong background in or technical affinity with chemical surface treatment / spraying processes and material handling pereferably in a complex  manufacturing environment
  • You demonstrate excellent Project leadership skills on relatively complex projects;
  • You have awareness of industry procedures and best practices;
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English;
  • Good working knowledge of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques;
  • You have experience with managing site activities.
  • You have understanding of Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC)
