Job Summary

Embark on a journey where your expertise as an ILS Engineer specializing in Logistic Support Analysis can truly have a positive impact! Join our Defense business line based in Papendrecht, where you'll be an integral part of the Product Support team, predominantly focused on the NH90 helicopter program. Reporting to the Functional Team Lead for Product Support, you'll play a vital role in continuously enhancing the NH90 Logistic Support Analysis Record (LSAR).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive ILS support to meet contractual deliverables for the NH90 project.
  • Offer ILS knowledge and Logistic Support Analysis expertise, particularly within the Maintenance Burden Reduction Program.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of system and equipment designs to determine optimal preventive or corrective maintenance requirements, ensuring sustained airworthiness through LSA.
  • Translate FMECA/MSG-3 results into actionable corrective and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Extend LSA Support to NH90 and other projects as needed.
  • Contribute to ongoing airworthiness initiatives for supported projects through ILS.

The GKN Fokker ILS Service

Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) is an essential tool for efficient and cost effective management of complex programs throughout the product life-cycle from concept through to end of life cycle (disposal).  The GKN Fokker ILS service uses ILS & Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) processes requiring continuous evaluation, analysis and evolution to ensure that they remain fit-for-purpose throughout, thus enabling GKN Fokker to provide bespoke ILS support solutions to various projects.
Specifically, the ILS service provides ongoing support for the NHIndustries NH90 Tactical Transport and Naval Frigate (TTH & NFH) worldwide helicopter fleets.  In support of these fleets, a quality LSA database is the foundation on which an effective ILS service rests by providing the essential configuration and source data reference that the various ILS disciplines use in support of the various support activities.
The process of inputting data, updating records and developing the NH90 LSA Record (LSAR) is continuous, to ensure the data within always aligns to the helicopter configurations, maintaining a robust LSAR for the continued support of existing versions & variants and to support the development of future design iterations.

Your reponsibilities

The ILS Engineer - Logistic Support Analysis is a major contributor and supports the projects' continued Airworthiness activities. The roles & responsibilities include: 

  • By using the Eagle LSAR database, to undertake LSA/LSAR related tasks compliant with applicable requirements (MIL-Std. 1388- 1A/2B) and GKN Fokker NH90 approved local processes,
  • Closely coordinate with internal/external stakeholders incl. Technical Publications, Material Support, MSG-3 and AGE so that the data is aligned,
  • Assess, identify and update LSA/LSAR data and information resulting from change requests,
  • Verify design and maintenance concept changes at desktop level during all phases of the change process and provide feedback to task originators and ILS team,
  • Generate requested LSA deliverables / LSAR DB reports across the range of ILS and LSA disciplines, including bespoke LSAR reports in MS Excel,
  • Assist in management of LSA database and generate ad hoc reports tailored to customers' requirements,
  • Improve the derived maintenance program through RAMT analysis and advice
  • Identify shortfalls and assist with improving the ILS processes and procedures,
  • Support change management topics with other ILS disciplines (LSA, Material Support & Technical Publications),
  • Represent GKN Fokker at an international level,
  • Identify data inconsistencies and prepare rectification action for logistics databases for Customers,
  • Assist with updates of the databases in accordance with contractual obligations and review Data Modules for their correctness & consistency with engineering sources,
  • Liaise with engineering, airworthiness and project Partner Companies on all of the above topics. 

What you'll bring

As an ILS Engineer, your journey in aviation comes alive with hands-on experience in helicopter or aircraft in-service operations. Your expertise spans ATA chapters, RAM&T, and FMEA, complemented by a keen understanding of maintenance planning. Delving into field data analysis, you actively contribute to elevating the airworthiness and quality of GKN Fokker products. Your mission is to support fleet maintenance, providing customers with technical expertise. In addition, you have the following qualifications:

  • Engineering/technical background, preferably in Aerospace ILS.
  • Military support experience is a significant plus.
  • Two years' hands-on experience in LSA/LSAR 1388-1a & 2B.
  • Practical familiarity with Raytheon EAGLE LSAR database.
  • Proficiency in MCDB, Matrix, HiCo, and IETP databases.
  • Expertise in RAMT (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Testability analysis).
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Access & Excel.
  • Excellent reporting and writing skills.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD 1388, DEF STAN 00-60, AECMA, ASD S2000, S3000, ATA MSG-3 latest edition.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Capability to obtain security clearance for military projects.
