About the Global Management Traineeship

Our Global Management Traineeship gives a unique introduction to get to know GKN Aerospace. Over 27 months, you will rotate among five diverse departments, tailoring your experience to your own interests and aspirations. By joining a global team, you will immerse yourself in various cultures and collaborate with a spectrum of talents. Whether you envision a career of an innovative engineer or of an executive leader, GKN Aerospace gives you the opportunity to choose a global engineering network with wide-ranging possibilities.

By joining the team of the GKN Aerospace Global Management Trainees, you will be involved in an onboarding and structured development programme and you will have the opportunity to support and be supported by your peers, building on your global GKN Aerospace network.

What does the programme entail? Here is a synopsis:

  • Global Onboarding: over the initial 2 weeks, you'll be warmly welcome to the programme, introduced to GKN Aerospace and our industry, and given fundamental training to start your journey with us. 
  • Domestic Placements: for the next 15 months, you'll dive into your chosen projects. Here you have the chance to follow different routes. Alongside, you'll participate in 2 development weeks, focusing on both your personal and team growth. 
  • International Placement: you'll spend 6 months gaining international exposure at a different GKN Aerospace site in another country. During this time, you'll engage in the 3rd development week, aimed at nurturing your leadership skills. 
  • Domestic Placement: returning to the Netherlands, you will dedicate the final 6 months of the program to your last project. 

Throughout the programme, you'll engage in monthly training sessions, discuss with inspirational leaders within the business, attend GKN events, join espresso sessions, and participate in peer learning groups. In addition, you will have the chance to engage in extracurricular activities beyond your primary responsibilities. Whether it is supporting local community initiatives, or participating in our young people strategy, you will be empowered with time and encouragement to contribute to make a meaningful impact on what matters most. 

What you'll bring

  • A completed Master's degree from a University of Technology or a Master's degree in a subject related to our business.
  • Proven managerial and international experience gained through your academic pursuits and extracurricular activities.
  • Your ability to demonstrate a genuine affinity for the Aerospace industry is crucial. 
  • You possess up to 1 year of relevant working experience.
  • You have a passion for advancing your career and personal growth consistently. 
  • You exhibit openness to diverse cultures and communicate in English on an advanced level. Proficiency in Dutch is advantageous. 
  • As your assignments will span across GKN Aerospace locations in the Netherlands and at least one international location, you should be open to working on a co-location basis across various sites.

Our selection process involves a screening call, followed by 2-3 rounds of interviews with the program's council, and, finally, an assessment day hosted at our partner's location.
