About the role

As our Director Compensation & Benefits Europe, you lead and manage our reward processes in het Europe region, being the Netherlands, Germany, Romania and Turkey. You also lead and manage our new to be set up HR Shared Service Center for administrative services and payroll processes in the Netherlands. 
Directly reporting to the VP HR Europe, you will be part of his HR Leadership Team Europe. 

As the Director Compensation & Benefits Europe, you act in alignment with the GKN Aerospace HR Global Centers of Excellence strategies and regional requirements. 

You’ll be based at our GKN Aerospace Europe headquarters in Papendrecht, located on the vessel hotspot on the banks of the Noord. From that office, you’ll manage a team of 10 employees.

Your responsibilities

You lead and manage the deployment in the Europe region of the global strategy, programs, processes, solutions and tools co-defined by the GKN Aerospace Global Center of Excellence HR Performance & Reward.  
The deployment relates to the key areas of Compensation & Benefits, Payroll, HR Administration, Performance & Development, and also Vitality and Global Mobility. 
It goes without saying that you take into account all local requirements and legislation
 

Furthermore, as the Director Compensation & Benefits you:

  • Provide strategic input into the HR Europe strategy and to the Global Center of Excellence HR Performance & Reward. 
  • Lead and manage the implementation of our new HR Shared Service Center.
  • Build and implement shared services processes into the HRIS system SAP SuccesFactors and link them to oa. Payroll. 
  • (Re)design and implement systems and manage all processes on Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, HR Administration including
     pensions, Global Mobility, Vitality and Time & Attendance.  
  • Act as a subject matter expert and main point of contact to all regional HR colleagues and managers on a wide scope of issues, also in other disciplines with GKN Aerospace.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the Work Councils and Unions in the Netherlands on Compensation & Benefits related matters. Participate in monthly Unions meeting.
  • Lead and manage Payroll, HR Administration and all programs, policies and procedures with compliant processes while being mindful of
    local legislation, labour relations and collective labour agreements. 
  • Lead and manage all processes with a continuous focus on employee well-being, a great place to work culture and a healthy workforce by leading the way in living the Cultural Principles. 
  • Proactively provide the business with Compensation & Benefit services such as job grading (WTW and ISF) job levelling support, salary data, market pay analysis, pension reforms,
  • integrated Health programs and value-adding benefits for employees and the business.
  • Proactively provide the business with a support framework to manage effectively the short and long term illness management strategy. 
  • Provide the business with Global Mobility services within the GKN Aerospace Global Mobility Service model including
     expatriate assignment management, immigration, domestic and international employee relocation, tax and (international) payrolling,
     management of external service providers, (global) tools and act as single point of escalation.
  • Define and implement local strategic guidelines on Global Mobility and monitor adherence to these guidelines.  

 

Your other responsibilities are:
 

•    Effectively conclude, manage and renew local contracts with external vendors in cooperation with the
     GKN procurement team and manage the performance. 
•    Deliver C&B metrics and analytics to internal stakeholders. 
•    Act as the main point of contact for audit related matters on Compensation & Benefits, Admin and Payroll processes.
 

What do you need to be successful in this role?

•    Typically 7+ years of managerial experience in Compensation & Benefits in an international matrix organisation,
      including 5+ years in Dutch compensation, Dutch benefits, Payroll including pension and health benefits 
•    Experience and proven leadership in managing direct reports, all to lead, guide, coach and mentor
     team members and their career development. 
•    Experience in HRIS and the implementation of payroll processes or other areas of total rewards.
•    Experience with SAP SuccesFactors and the modules Compensation, Variable pay and Employee Centrals.
•    Experience with direct contracting with carriers and vendors, as well as through brokers of both fully insured
     and/or self-insured benefit plans including pension plans and health care. 
•    Knowledge of Microsoft Office with an advanced level in Microsoft Excel skills
     with the ability to create formulas, charts, graphs and pivot tables,
     as well as advanced proficiency developing briefs and reports and PowerPoint presentations. 
•    Ability to openly en clearly communicate, both written and orally in English and Dutch. 
•    Ability to effectively present numerical data in a resourceful manner and
     skillfully gather, analyze and present information.
•    Ability to act organized, accurate, thorough and being able to monitor work for quality.
•    Willing and able to travel to domestic sites and incidentally travel to international sites.
