The Vacancy: Configuration Management Engineer

We are looking for a Configuration Management Enginer to join the Industrialization team of Fokker Landing Gear in Papendrecht. 

In this role, you will manage manufacturing data and documentation, ensure strong configuration control, and support the integration of key systems—ERP (Infor LN), MES (Opcenter), and especially the implementation of PLM (Windchill)—to maintain data integrity and align processes between engineering and manufacturing. You will also contribute to the Quality Management System (QMS) by developing and maintaining procedures, instructions, and templates related to configuration and change management.

Fokker Landing Gear

Fokker Landing Gear, part of GKN Fokker, is a recognized specialist in landing gear and related systems. We focus on the design and development, production and assembly of complete landing gears, as well as the repair and reassembly of systems already in use. In doing so, we work on the most famous aircraft and helicopters; think of the Apache combat helicopter, the F-35 Lightning II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the multipurpose NH90 maritime combat helicopter.

What You'll Do

  • Support the implementation and deployment of Windchill PLM, ensuring alignment with organizational processes in engineering and manufacturing.
  • Drive and support systems integration between PLM, ERP, and MES platforms.
  • Ensure effective configuration and change management, maintaining data integrity and process compliance. Manage product data within the PLM environment.
  • Contribute to QMS development related to configuration and change management by preparing and updating standard procedures, work instructions, and templates.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in continuous improvement projects, ensuring process efficiency and data consistency across departments.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related field,
  • Proven experience (mid-senior level) in aerospace or a comparable highly regulated industry,
  • Hands-on experience with Windchill PLM or equivalent PLM systems,
  • Familiarity with configuration management and change management processes,
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing engineering systems and Exposure to systems integration (PLM, ERP, MES),
  • Familiarity with QMS frameworks, including documentation and procedure development,
  • Fluency in English,
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem solving skills,
  • Collaborative mindset, capable of working crossfunctionallly with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, 
  • Clear communicator with the ability to lead meetings and reviews, 
  • Proactive, structure, and committed to driving process improvements.
