Job Summary

 

Based at our Papendrecht site the Automation Developer is responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting automation solutions using UiPath, operating within the standards and governance framework defined by the Automation Centre of Excellence (CoE). The role contributes to the delivery of reliable, auditable, and scalable automation solutions that support business processes in a regulated environment. In addition to technical delivery, the Automation Developer supports business engagement, solution design, and full lifecycle ownership, working closely with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, translate requirements into solutions, and ensure successful adoption and ongoing operation. 

What You'll Do

 

Delivery & Solution Development 

  • Develop UiPath automation workflows based on defined requirements (PDD, user stories, process maps) 
  • Build and configure reusable components in line with CoE standards
  • Contribute to solution design, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with enterprise architecture
  • Assist in estimating effort, timelines, and resource requirements for automation initiatives
  • Execute unit testing and support System and UAT testing cycles
  • Ensure proper logging, exception handling, and audit traceability within workflows 

Implementation & Lifecycle Ownership

  • Support implementation planning, including deployment, release management, and transition to support 
  • Support deployment activities via UiPath Orchestrator
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of automation solutions
  • Ensure adherence to IT security, compliance, and governance requirement

Support & Operations 

  • Monitor automation performance to ensure stability, availability, and reliability
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects in automation solutions
  • Support integrations between automation solutions and enterprise systems
  • Support ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of deployed automations 

What You'll Do Continued

 

Business Engagement & Partnership

  •  Collaborate with business SMEs and stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements and define automation use cases
  •  Engage with business teams to understand functional and non-functional requirements and translate them into solutions
  • Act as a trusted partner, advising on automation opportunities and best practices
  • Provide guidance and support to end users to enable effective adoption of automation solutions
  • Promote awareness of automation capabilities and support standardisation across processes 

Strategy & CoE Contribution

  • Support delivery of the IT and Automation strategy within the organisation  
  • Collaborate with IT functions including security, architecture, and operations to align solutions with enterprise standards 
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the CoE 

What You'll Bring

 

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with UiPath Studio (or similar RPA tools)

Strong understanding of: 

  • Workflow logic (variables, loops, conditions)
  • Exception handling and logging
  • Data handling (Excel, files, structured inputs)
  • Experience working in business-facing or stakeholder-facing roles
  • Ability to manage multiple automation initiatives or priorities concurrently
  • Understanding of integration patterns and enterprise systems (e.g. APIs, system interfaces)
  • Knowledge of change management and project delivery methodologies (e.g. REFramework or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Problem-solving skills, including ability to debug workflows and perform root cause analysis
  • Ability to work within structured processes, governance frameworks, and standards
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
