The vacancy: Associate Manufacturing Engineer - CAM

At GKN Fokker Aerospace we are looking for an Associate Manufacturing Engineer - CAM or a working student to join the CAM and Shop Floor Support team of Fokker Landing Gear in Papendrecht, Netherlands. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development of NC Programming solutions to complex problems through the implementation of NC Programs, from original concept through to production. 

At Fokker Landing Gear, the Associate Manufacturing Engineer - CAM will work on writing work instructions for multi-axis milling and mill-turn machines. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and precise manufacturing of landing gear parts, and you will play a key role in creating and releasing process instructions. 

Fokker Landing Gear

Fokker Landing Gear, part of GKN Aerospace in Papendrecht, is a recognized specialist in landing gear and related systems. We focus on the design and development, production and assembly of complete landing gear systems, as well as the repair and reassembly (MRO) of systems already in use. In doing so, we work on the most famous aircraft and helicopters; think of the Apache combat helicopter, the F-35 Lightning II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the multipurpose NH90 maritime combat helicopter. 

What You'll Do

  • Write work instructions related to CNC machine operations. 
  • Keep track on the progress of Process instructions that are targeted for the year (project management). 
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure that machining processes meet the required specifications and standards.
  • Develop / improve standard operation procedures (SOP).

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in engineering relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing Technology).
  • Familiarity with hard metal manufacturing and a passion for precision, multi-axis machining.
  • Familiarity with software such as CATIA V5, TopSolid, Siemens NX CAM, Vericut, CrashGuard, Tooltech and TDM is an advantage.
  • Understanding of operating and programming CNC machines.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Fast learner.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with CNC operators and other team members.
