Aircraft Fitter (Career Switch with Training Program) – Fokker Aerostructures, Papendrecht
At Fokker Aerostructures in Papendrecht, we offer you the opportunity to learn a new technical profession within a high-tech aerospace environment. As an Aircraft Fitter, you will help build the primary structures of leading aircraft and helicopters, including the Gulfstream, Airbus A350 and NH90. The parts you assemble directly contribute to the safety and performance of aircraft used worldwide.
Our Papendrecht campus is a state-of-the-art production facility where precision, teamwork and passion for aviation come together. We strongly believe in talent development — which is why we offer career switch candidates (zij-instromers) a complete training program, both theoretical and on-the-job.
What You Will Do as an Aircraft Fitter
- Prepare and inspect parts and materials for assembly
- Clean, inspect and correctly use tools and equipment
- Register parts and process documentation
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions (English & Dutch)
- Assemble complex metal structures according to strict aerospace standards
- Perform visual inspections and measurements to ensure top quality
- Maintain a clean, safe and well-organized workspace
- Actively contribute to team and continuous improvement initiatives
Your craftsmanship will have a real impact on products used by our global customers.
What You Bring
We are looking for motivated career switchers who want to learn a technical trade. No aerospace experience is required — we will train you internally.
You have:

MBO (vocational) work and thinking level

Strong interest in technology and willingness to learn a new profession

A precise, quality-focused working attitude

The ability to follow technical instructions

Willingness to work in shifts

Good command of both the English and Dutch language (many instructions are in English)

You live within commuting distance of Papendrecht

Motivation, curiosity, responsibility and a team-oriented mindset
Technical or assembly experience is a plus but not required.
