Quality Technologist - Final Inspection

Job Summary

Perform diversified and complex tasks to include visual/dimensional inspection tasks, from first article to final inspection, for the fabrication of aluminium components and assemblies.

Job Responsibilities

Inspects aluminum components according to defined criteria.

Part verification using precision measuring equipment.

Maintains files/test records timely/accurately.

Monitors critical equipment, tooling/instrumentation to ensure proper operation/calibration.

Evaluates problems/makes initial recommendations for corrective actions.

Generates non-conforming material reports.

Complies with/audits company safety, environmental continuous improvement policies.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES:  Note: Skills will be assessed.

 

High school diploma or GED required; technical school diploma preferred.
Five plus years’ experience in hands-on manufacturing and/or quality inspection required.
Minimum of three years in quality control.   Aerospace manufacturing preferred.
Experience with measuring instruments.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE OF:

 

Working with and performing First Article Inspections (FAI).

Working knowledge of FAA Conformity, Control Plans and PFMEA preferred.

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, manufacturing sketches and customer specifications.

Basic arithmetic (using decimals, etc.) to understand tolerance.

Documenting information for further evaluation.

 

REQUIRED SKILL IN:

Making independent judgments and decisions.
Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
Computer proficiency in related technical and specialized software including Microsoft Office Suite.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 
1) Vision Testing - industry standard
