About the Opportunity:

Performs purchasing duties in support of programs and overall business (commodities).  Purchasing duties include, but are not limited to, analysis of purchase requisitions for compliance with company procedures, placement of orders and follow-up with suppliers.  All duties are to be performed to GKN Westland Aerospace, Inc., Policies and Procedures.  

What You’ll Do:

•    Position will have direct influence to program costs and business costs through the placement and planning of Purchase Orders.  
•    Position might have MRO Purchase responsibilities.
•    Has indirect influence on program and business costs through the post-award management of suppliers with particular emphasis on supplier schedule.  Delays in suppliers schedule can affect manufacturing schedules and require overtime and other expediting activities at GKN Westland Aerospace, Inc.
•    Procure parts, materials, tools, etc. to program schedule and business schedules in support of a 98% on-time delivery performance standard. 
•    Procure parts, materials, tools, etc. to program budgets and business budgets in support of a + 3% variance to budget. 
•    Adherence to policies and procedures to the extent that no negative findings would result in any audit on work performed. 
•    Responsible for professionalism and team building skills.  There is an extreme amount of interaction with all other departments (such as engineering, facilities, production control, etc.).  This interaction has the potential to be very stressful and counterproductive.  
•    It is imperative that the Junior Buyer retains an impeccable level of professionalism and excellent team building skills.
•    Assist in the development and maintenance of a corporate culture; which supports the Company's overall business objectives and goals, by providing leadership in issues that involve “cost, quality, process, schedule and people”.
•    Understanding of Inventory Control Programs such as, MIN/MAX, Consignment and Re-Scheduling of PO’S
•    Run ERP reports (Cincom), prepare Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations
•    Perform other duties as may be assigned

Required Qualifications:
•    Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering or in Lieu of a Bachelors Degree a High School Diploma/Associates Degree and 1 or more years experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Material Planning. 
•    U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
•    GKN experience
•    Basic knowledge of ERP purchasing systems and procedures is preferred.  
•    Advanced computer skills and familiarity with Excel (Pivot tables), PowerPoint and MRP systems preferred.
