Job Summary


GKN Aerospace Engine Business Line is growing and consists of sites spread over Europe, America & Asia. Part of the transformation into a globally connected enterprise is to create one common PLM backbone for the entire engines business line to manage product related data throughout the lifecycle. As part of this global development we are now looking for an Application Specialist working with Teamcenter within PLM Operations (Sustain/Maintain) for all engines business line sites in the US.  

As a PLM Application Specialist, you are part of a core team in charge of developing and sustaining solutions as the technical authority within the Teamcenter PLM domain.  The Application Specialist will take a holistic approach to drive robust PLM solutions, leveraging your broad understanding of manufacturing engineering operations and extensive knowledge of Teamcenter and its associated systems.  
Within the team, you will focus on developing strong relationships with business users and stakeholders driving technical solutions to manage engineering data for all PLM processes.  This includes daily Support & Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, Training as well as participation in PLM Roadmap project execution. 

Job Responsibilities


•    Act as the application specialist for Teamcenter with focus on the Manufacturing Engineering area.
•    Act as PLM Authority towards the end user community by supporting and mentoring the end users in their daily operations.
•    Interact with business users and stakeholders to understand processes and requirements. 
•    Continuously develop and improve existing PLM environment together with solution architect.
•    Contribute to test, verification and roll out in accordance with an agile methodology
•    Participate in global experts forum for defined Teamcenter areas

Job Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

•    BS degree in Mechanical and/or Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Technology or equivalent experience of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). 
•    5 years’ experience working with or supporting PLM, including experience with document management, part management, BOM, BOP/Routing management and access control (ITAR).
•    2 years’ of Teamcenter experience, preferably in combination with NX
•    Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.


Preferred Qualifications:

•    GKN Experience
•    Experience in project management preferred
•    Knowledge in agile project execution of continuous improvements
•    Familiar with Business Process Improvement or Lean principals
•    Excellent verbal and written communication
•    A self-starter with ability to work under own initiative 
•    Proficient in providing training
•    Experience in end user interaction and communication
•    Ability to travel with occasional travel overseas
