Job Summary

Responsible for the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of tools, dies, and fixtures used in forging operations. Ensures all tools meet production requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations in a high-temperature forging environment. Supports continuous production by keeping tooling in optimal condition and assisting with process improvements.

Job Responsibilities

•    Fabricate, assemble, repair, and maintain forging tools, dies, and fixtures using manual machining, hand tools, and welding equipment.
•    Perform TIG/Arc welding and acetylene torch cutting/heating to repair or modify tooling as needed.
•    Grind, sand, and finish tools to meet precise specifications and ensure proper function.
•    Conduct preventive and routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
•    Inspect tools, dies, and fixtures for wear, damage, or defects and perform repairs as required.
•    Maintain accurate records of tool maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
•    Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including daily housekeeping and proper storage of tools and materials.
•    Assist in training new employees on tooling processes, equipment usage, and safety procedures.
•    Work assigned shifts and overtime as required to support forging production.
•    Perform other duties as assigned to support operational goals.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications
•    High school diploma or GED required.
•    Vocational or technical training in machining, welding, or metal fabrication preferred.
•    Minimum of three (3) years of experience in toolmaking, metal fabrication, or forging environments.
•    Proficiency with hand tools, grinders, welding equipment, and torch operations.
•    Strong understanding of metallurgy and forging processes preferred.
•    Ability to work in a high-temperature, heavy industrial environment safely.
•    Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
•    Must be a US Person (Citizen or Green Card Holder) or can obtain the necessary Government licensing to work with controlled technology and products

 

Physical Requirements
•    Ability to lift and carry heavy tools and materials (up to 50 lbs or more).
•    Ability to stand, bend, and work in awkward positions for extended periods.
•    Comfortable working around high heat, noise, and metalworking machinery.
