Job Summary
The Maintenance Team Lead serves as the primary maintenance point person for the assigned shift, coordinating daily maintenance activities and providing technical support to ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This hands-on role performs maintenance and repairs while helping prioritize work, communicate equipment issues, and support operational continuity. The Team Lead does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but serves as the shift resource and liaison for maintenance-related needs.
Job Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary maintenance contact and point person for the assigned shift.
• Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of work orders and repairs.
• Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance technicians during troubleshooting and repair activities.
• Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and facility-related issues.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, equipment breakdowns, and emergency situations.
• Communicate equipment status, shift updates, and outstanding issues to leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Assist with the installation, startup, and validation of new equipment and systems as needed.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with training and onboarding of new maintenance team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience using general hand tools and maintenance equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate shift activities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience serving as a shift lead, team lead, or designated maintenance point person.
• Demonstrated experience working with electrical systems up to 480VAC in industrial environments
• Strong knowledge of three-phase power distribution, motor controls, and control circuits
• Ability to safely troubleshoot, repair, and install 480V, 277V, 240V, 120V, and low-voltage electrical systems
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams
• At least 1 year of machinist experience.
• Experience using precision measuring tools, including micrometers and dial calipers.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring, motors, pumps, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and HVAC equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and maintenance best practices.
Physical Requirements
• Standing and walking for up to 7 hours per day.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling (up to 2 hours per day).
• Use of hands for fine dexterity, light grasping, and firm grasping (up to 7 hours per day).
• Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, machinery, noise, and varying facility conditions.
