Job Summary

 

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical expertise at a local project level for operational and development Programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem solving skills. Accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to materials, tooling, part fabrication and assembly.
 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Provides technical expertise to rapidly solve issues pertaining to vendor schedule and/or quality.
  • Breaks down technical problems, risk, opportunities, in the correct order to create products and add value to GKN Aerospace through creating Zero Defects
  • Leads positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
  • Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.
  • Local project technical lead for the implementation of production planning, from original concept through to production. Design these processes to a high level of process capability through utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite.
  • Technical lead on the implementation of tooling, from original concept through to production. Design this tooling for high degree of process capability utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite to demonstrate as such.
  • Develop NC Programming solutions for high degree of process capability utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite to demonstrate as such.
  • Responsible for technical support of manufacturing development and integration for production.  Resolve issues pertaining to vendor quality.
  • Leading product development, customer quality requirements management and first article development.
  • Accountable for new product quotes and manufacturing system change proposals
  • Manage industrialization projects, leading both internal and external (vendor) resources |
  • Preparing configuration documentations and maintaining the data quality, integrity and security of Configuration Management (CM) database.
  • Ownership of enhancements to existing CM processes through deployment of Lean initiatives and leading global collaboration with other CM teams.
  • Audit the CM database and analyse configuration issues. Implement appropriate resolutions to audit findings and configuration issues

 

Required Qualifications:

 


• Bachelor Degree in Engineering
• 7+ Years Experience in Manufacturing Engineering
• 2+ years of CAD experience
• U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements (if required for site)
 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• GKN experience
• Aerospace experience is preferred
• Detailed knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000
• Fluent in English language, both written and spoken
• Strong problem solving ability
• Ability to work independantly
